Associate Professor Peter Haertsch is a specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon who practices in Sydney. He was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2003 for his work treating the Bali bombing burn victims. He has particular expertise in gender reassignment surgery and is one of the most senior adult burns surgeons in Australia. He is currently the only surgeon offering gender reassignment surgery in Sydney.
