Facelifts

As we age, our skin loses tone and elasticity and unfortunately this can be obvious in the face. Wrinkles occur through years of smiling and frowning, fatty deposits in the face can increase or decrease and the angle between the jaw and the neckline becomes less obvious.

A facelift is aimed at reducing these more obvious signs of ageing and making the patient look "refreshed" rather than radically different.

Surgery is performed under general anaesthetic and most patients only spend 2-3 days in hospital. The position of the incisions will have been pointed out to you and clips in the hairline will be removed at 10 days with any sutures in front of the ears removed at 5 days.

Full recovery is usually around 3-4 weeks.
